SUMMARY:Ajit Prabhu — Entrepreneur of the Year Celebration
LOCATION:EMPAC Theater and Evelyn’s Café\, 50 Eighth Street\, Troy\, NY
DESCRIPTION:Ajit Prabhu co-founded Quest Global in 1997 while studying at R
PI. Nearly three decades later\, the company operates in more than twenty
countries\, with 104 delivery centers and more than 23\,000 employees\, ac
cording to RPI’s announcement. Its engineers work across aerospace\, aut
omotive manufacturing\, energy\, medical technology\, rail and semiconduct
ors—industries in which a design has to function reliably outside the dr
awing board.\n\nThat growth is why RPI’s Severino Center for Technologic
al Entrepreneurship has selected Prabhu for the William F. Glaser ’53 En
trepreneur of the Year Award. Established in 1990\, the award recognizes a
lumni whose business careers can provide substantive lessons for new entre
preneurs. Prabhu’s story offers a useful case: building an engineering-s
ervices company requires technical credibility\, clients willing to trust
a young business and the ability to organize teams across countries and sp
ecialties.\n\nThe public celebration begins with a fireside conversation w
ith President Marty Schmidt\, followed by a startup pitch competition and
faculty-student poster presentations. Readers can hear an established foun
der discuss his experience\, then see ideas at an earlier stage of develop
ment. For engineers\, business owners and anyone curious about how a techn
ically skilled team becomes a durable company\, the afternoon has more sub
stance than an award ceremony alone.\n\nSchedule: 1 PM fireside conversati
on and awards\; 2:30 PM startup pitch competition\; 3:30 PM posters and ne
tworking\; 4:30 PM pitch and poster awards. RSVP: https://webforms.rpi.edu

 ublic\; RSVP requested\nOfficial details: https://empac.rpi.edu/events/202
