SUMMARY:Curator’s Tour — A Feeling of With
LOCATION:Tang Teaching Museum\, Atrium\, 815 North Broadway\, Saratoga Spri
 ngs\, NY
DESCRIPTION:Rachel Seligman\, the Tang’s Malloy Curator and assistant dir
ector for curatorial affairs\, leads a tour of an exhibition developed wit
h faculty from several disciplines. A Feeling of With uses the museum’s
collection to examine relationships through language\, nature\, mathematic
s and religion.\n\nIts three parts give that broad idea concrete forms. Be
hind\, Below\, Within considers how language and bodily experience organiz
e space. Human Nature examines our place in—and distance from—the natu
ral world. The Forms of Things Unknown explores how pattern\, numbers and
geometry become ways of representing the sacred.\n\nA curator’s tour is
useful here because the exhibition’s organizing choices are part of its
meaning. Seligman can connect objects with the questions that brought them
together. Visitors can then continue through the galleries independently\
, testing those connections against what they see.\n\n\n\nAdmission: Free
and open to the public\nOfficial details: https://tang.skidmore.edu/calend
